Arduino sketch for Proportional valve

The project consists of writing an Arduino sketch for a low-pressure air proportional valve. I would like PID control of the valve. The valve will be controlled by a NEMA 17 stepper motor. The stepper motor will be controlled by a A8825 motor controller mounted on a breakout board that I have specs on. I want to use an Arduino Nano to control the A8825 controller. If you recommend another embedded platform, please explain why. The stepper will only be rotating 50 steps (25% of a revolution or 90°) The scope of the sketch consists of writing a PID control of the motor based on a 0-5v pressure transducer input or a locally set setpoint by an operator (more below). A 2x16 led display will report the current setpoint. The system will have Wi-Fi capability and should be able to communicate and receive remote setpoints though the Wi-Fi connection (ESP8266 ESP-01 Serial Wi-Fi Wireless Transceiver Wireless Module Development Board LWIP AP+ST). Normal operating conditions would allow the network to set the setpoint, however, a local operator would be to override network setpoint locally via a two-button switch (up and down) circuit. The setpoint therefore, will have two methods of being set, 1 remote and 1 local. The local setpoint takes precedents. I am considering adding the P, I, and the D values as local push buttons (up & down) also, so that the operator can control the response of the valve locally without the need to reprogram. (we can discuss after the award of the project) There is not a time limit on this project. I am open to recommendations, although I am extremely pressed for space, so SIZE MATTERS, when making recommendations.

2X16 LCD is obsolete, why won't go for the OLED one, like SSD-1306 OLED OLED uses only two signal wires from the micro controller again, ESP8266 for this project is right choice, as I will build the web page hosted on the ESP, the page serves as a portal you can access and modify values like Kp, Ki and Kd, set points, etc ESP will be AP mode, so your mobile phone can connect to it we can use wemos D1 mini board, it's relatively smaller in size tuning Kp, Ki and Kd is little trickier and yes we can have A8825 connected to the wemos, to control your NEMA 17 stepper motor I can do this in 1 day, though tuning the Kp,Ki,Kd might take some time, actually you can tune them right from web page in real time

Hello, thank you for your job posting. I read your description about--arduino I am a senior electrical engineer. I have plenty of experience in firmware development and micro-controller developments. I can write the firmware based on Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Pic, Atmega, FPGA, ARM, DSP, PLC and so on. And I can design the circuit by the Altium, Eagle, KiCAD, Allegro & OrCAD, PADs. I provide the services - Gerber files, Netlist generation, BOM generation and 3D Models of PCAD and ECAD. I am also good at AutoCAD, Solidworks. And I can simulate all circuits with Proteus, LT-spice, Matlab, Simulink, Multisim, and Labview as well. Due to my experience in firmware development, I will bring you the perfect result in time with high quality. I will also give you a detailed explanation of the process. Looking forward to hearing from you soon Thanks

Arduino + proportional valve designing Expert Here I already used this low-pressure air proportional valve in our industry for the using of pump supply of water. I know how to use PID to control the valve and stepper motor. I will design your project just in 2 to 3 days max and will complete test it on simulation because I am expert in this field and having 3 years working experience on it. come on chat for more discussions. Thanks waqas

Hi! I'm Hardware Developer with enough experience to help you on your project. I have experience with PID controllers, pcb design, electronic design, firmware programming and CAD design for housing. I suggest that the PID control is handled by an analog circuit that I can design in such a way that the microcontroller only executes the action of the push buttons and operation of the display. In this case, the PID circuit receives the instruction from the Arduino, in this case execute the corrective on the output. In a similar job, I implemented a PID circuit to control the position of a conveyor belt. This band used an output from the arduino to locate a conveyor belt from among three positions. In my experience the best has been the analog circuit.
