What's the size of the material? If we're talking 12px font, 1000 words should be about 2 pages. I can safely say that I could do up to 10 pages of detailed proofreading a day, at a rate of 5$ per 2 pages. As for my skill, I'm a computer scientist, so I am no stranger to technical terms.
