Penitentiary / Prison project

I created an American state in order to run online and in-person role-playing games in it. The project is currently in the process of reorganizing the prisoner set-up, in order to be more realistic, but still simple to use. I have a penitentiary and a state prison. However, I want to redo the penitentiary logo and do one for the State Prison. The penitentiary name is Brayton penitentiary, and the state prison does not have a name. The draws and uniform of the prison guard will be redo. A few images are attached to the project, just to show the actual state of the project. I want to know who manages both prisons, which logo they would have on their uniform and the global organization of it. I want you to either do me research and organize the structure, or have some background in it. For the first option, I will want sources. Also, I want to have a global organization (staff) of both, as long as wich building they would have. Is it possible to accept prisoners from other states? Is it common? Wich prison would be private, which would be federal, and wich one manages by the State? The State is located on the east coast, 4h of Ferry from New York, and got a little bit more than a million citizens, divided between the central city and a county. What would be the type of prison in the county and in the main city? I attached a State Map to give you a good idea of the State. Shiner City got around a million of citizens, Mallentown, 2800, WIlmottown, 600 and Lonepinetown, 300. A couple of thousands are spread in the rest of the county.
