I require a relatively simple program written in Python for the Telit GL865-Quad GSM module.
The GL865 will be connected directly to an analog sensor that outputs a voltage. The GL865 module is required to monitor this sensor and take a voltage measurement approximately once every second. If the sensor voltage differs significantly from the previous voltage measurement then the GL865 will send a text message notifying the user of this change.
The GL865 will also connect to an external switch. This switch is used to ‘arm’ the device and prepare it for deployment.
Description of Operation:
Step 1 – Program Recipient’s Cell Phone Number
Upon power up the GL865 is required to have the recipients cell phone number programmed so when an alarm condition occurs they can be sent a text (SMS) message. This is accomplished by sending a text message to the GL865 with the telephone number contained in the body of the text message. The GL865 should reply with a text message that it has received the number correctly and is ready for arming.
Step 2 – Wait for Switch Press to Arm Device
The GL865 must wait for a switch to be pressed to ‘arm’ the device before further operation. Ideally the device will be in a low power mode to conserve battery life and waiting for a momentary press of the switch. If this switch is pressed, proceed to step 3.
Step 3 – Measure Analog Sensor
Approximately every second, the GL865 will take an analog voltage measurement of the sensor and compare to the previous measurement. If there is no previous measurement (first time executing this step) then ignore the comparison. If there is a significant voltage difference between the current and previous measurement (alarm condition) then step 4 will be implemented, otherwise continue with step 3 and read the analog sensor every second whilst remaining in a low power mode.
Step 4 – Send SMS
If an alarm condition has occurred then immediately send an SMS message to the recipients cell phone number of the sensor voltage. Go to step 2 and wait for the switch press to re-arm the device.
Hardware:
At present the Mikroe GSM Click ([login to view URL]) is being used for the hardware, together with the Sharp GP2Y0E02A module ([login to view URL]) for the analog sensor. The hardware will not be supplied. Operation of the Sharp analog sensor is very simple, and it will be assumed that the developer has access to a Telit GL865-Quad module for programming and test.
What is Expected:
Full source code will be required together with detailed instructions to allow the code to be programmed on to the Telit GL865-Quad module. A complete list of software tools that were used for developing/programming/downloading is also required to facilitate this.
Additional:
Although this project is relatively simple an experienced programmer who has worked on Telit GSM modems using the built-in Python interpreter is required. The full specification will be provided to selected bidders that meet this criteria.
There are some additional fairly straightforward 'nice to have' features in the full specification, a bonus will be paid if these additional features can be accomodated.

Hi,
Whats up.
I am not going to bore you with some repeated scripts that all freelancers use.
I am trying to get to a point. If i write some stuffs here. I would like to know about some of your preferences.
I have a good suggestions too on your project to make it much more BETTER.

I almost worked on all types of Telit modules in combination with GPS/BLE etc. I used GE885/GL865/HE910. All of them i used UART interface and familier with all AT commands which goes to telit modules. I used SMS/GPRS and kind of different modes. I can share more details when you responds to my messages. Most of my work involves C code. I used python in very early stage of development with telit eval module. I am sure i can able to help you out with your work.I can also able to help you with feature enhancements. I already have one setup with telit GE865 with UART connections. Let me know when you have time and we can discuss in details.
