Wordpress Plugin to show how to extend Gravity Forms Plugin Classes

I'm using the Wordpress Plugin Gravity Forms plus Gravity View. I need to extend the search functionality to join a separate table of dates that will be searched via a to and from field entry on the frontend. Gravity View uses the Gravit Forms GFAPI::get_entries() function to pull in search results which uses the GFFormsModel::search_leads which calls GFFormsModel... private static function get_search_where() the WHERE clause is built here and needs to be overridden to include a join for the separate table of dates. I need a simple plugin to show how to override the classes in this plugin, in particular GFFormsModel If there is an alternative method to achieve the same then and example to show how to achieve the same result.
