Hello. I'm a web developer with years of experience. Almost all projects are written in php. In my work I use a native php and frameworks including codeigniter 2.x – 3.x. I am very interested in the theme of smart home. I have a lot of different sensors and arduino board. I have some experience with them and for a long time going to write own home server. To start planning to use only the temperature sensors (DHT22) outdoors and indoors, and an atmospheric pressure sensor (BMP180), but just think over the system to work with any other sensors. To collect data from the sensors and sent to home server, I plan to use ESP8266 with NodeMCU. The main server was planning to use single board computer Banana Pro running Linux, which will periodically upload the collected data to a global server to be able to get this data from anywhere.
