Script To Find Latest 10 Files uploaded

I need a program to display the latest 10 graphics i have uploaded to my server by using the date on file itself (no database). I also need the program to identify which folders contain files that have been uploaded recently (within a few days of the current date). So if i upload 10 new files in 5 categories then an *New* image will appear next to those categories and those 10 files will appear on my home page. This is for a myspace graphic site.
