This job requires creating an interface that allows me to create an XML file that is used to schedule ads for a web site. The program must be written in .NET using C#, however VB.net is also acceptable. The interface has a simple dialog box that shows a window on the left and one on the right. The left window called Ads, contains a list of files that are in an Ad directory. These are [login to view URL] ads with a txt file extension. They are descriptive so that I know the type of ad (vertical or horizontal) and the tracking code I am using. For example a typical file is named like this: Amazon_Vert_Books_Birds_percevia1-20 The right window is called Schedule and contains the start time and end time the ad is displayed along with the name of the ad again. So it would look like this: 2AM to 4AM: Amazon_Vert_Books_Birds_percevia1-20 How it works: I click on a filename in the Ad window, and then I click a “Schedule?? button. This brings up a set time interface like the one in Windows, and the name of the ad above it. It shows start time and end time. There I pick the time of day I want the ad to appear. I click OK and the ad and time appears in the right window like this: 2AM to 4AM: Amazon_Vert_Books_Birds_percevia1-20 There is a file called [login to view URL] that our system reads to get the schedule. The utility would save the file with that filename. There must also be a way to open a file called [login to view URL] and allow me to save it. That causes our system to reload the [login to view URL] file and start a new schedule. The program needs to remember the location of the files so I don’t have to hunt for them each time I use it. The program must alert me to any conflicts in times that overlap. Extras: the program reads information from the ad file, such as its size (width and height) and tracking code, and displays that in the Ad window. Be sure and see the attached file containing the AdRotator XML file and the XML schema.
