We are a small printing company with several branches. Each branch has it's own set of accounts. We want to build then simple webpage that allows each branch to upload their accounts each month. The page will then allow us to generate graphs to compare financial performance over time within each branch, as well as between branches. The basic features are as follows Upload page - Users can upload a CSV text file that is exported from our accounting package. It has each account on a separate line with the account number, account name and account balance. For example 1-1100, Printing Income, $1500 There are 5 branches and each text file would have approximate 50-60 accounts. Each branch uses slightly different names for accounts so branch 1 might use "Shipping" while branch 2 uses "Shipping Paid". The account numbers are slightly different as well. Thus, we need a table that we can edit via the web panel to allow us to link the accounts. This would work by having a set of master accounts and then allowing us to link each entities account to the master account. For example, shipping might be allocated account number 1-1000 and then we link the shipping accounts for each entity to this master shipping account. We need to be able to add new master accounts and link up the accounts. Each account will start with a number designating the account type (ie, asset, liability ,income, expense, cost of goods sold) for reporting purposes. Each month, the accountant at each branch will export a profit and loss report and a balance sheet from our accounting software into csv text file format. The webpanel will allow them to upload this file and the database will be populated with the values for each account. We then need to be able to generate a series of reports that compare the accounts within an entity and across entitites. These should be visual (ie, graphs). Possible reports would be 1. Debt to asset ratio (it, current liabilities / current assets) 2. Sales comparison 3. Gross profit comparison There will be about 15 reports. For each report we need to be able to look at comparisons month-to-month, quarter to quarter and year to year within each entity, as well as between entities. We will provide the formulas for the reports we want to the winning bidder.
