The worker will take several hand-drawn sketches and generate a CSS, HTML, and javascript (jQuery/Mootools/etc.) website. English documents will be included with the sketches, to describe the functionality of the site. The worker may request additional supplies/materials; however, no additional supplies/materials are guaranteed. For example: the worker can be provided additional state diagrams upon request; the worker can be provided proportioned images but not high-quality artwork; the worker will not be provided a server; etc. The worker is expected to complete the project by the deadline he or she agrees to upon signing the worker contract. If the deadline cannot be met, the worker should request an extension in formal writing. The worker should be proficient in complex English and in technical English related to CSS, HTML, and javascript. If there are communication issues, it is the worker's responsibility to bring them forward. The worker is expected to be creative and do tangential design. If the worker is familiar with a UI element, programming technique, or other trade secret that is better than the method requested, it is the worker's responsibility to use the better method. In other words, the worker is expected to work to the best of his or her ability rather than 'stick to the design manifest'. The worker must be available to maintain the code for no less than two (2) years (preferably 3-5 years). The worker should indicate if he or she desires work in another language or wishes to use a different framework (or code from scratch). !Important: the prototype has many moving parts. It will be programmed piece-by-piece. Above-average organization and re-organization skills are strongly emphasized. If it is necessary to reversion the prototype in order to have better-organized and/or 'more elegant' code, the worker must indicate the necessity and help to reversion the software. !Important: intervalled desktop capture (to show progress) is required; skill in C is strongly recommended for applicants. ## Deliverables The first in a series of project is a short project: creating an outline for the site and a navigation region with some moving parts (expand-and-contract div's, drop-down menus, select-and-deselect divs, etc.). This is a short project that will help to give us an idea of how the worker organizes his or her code, complies to standards, comments his or her code, creates metacode, accommodates the backend programmer's requirements, and how eloquent the worker is in English and in the technical languages. A more detailed description will be given upon signing. Time is an important factor. The worker is expected to estimate the amount of time it will take to complete the project plus 3 days. In the final three days, the worker must create two (2) hour-long blocks of time to answer questions about the code via live chat on vWorker. In terms of money, I estimate this project's worth at 70-160 dollars. There should be anywhere from 3 to 9 hours of work, depending on the programmer's experience. I do not advise bidding less than 60 dollars, as the project may not be economically viable at that rate.
