Java implementation of a wifi connection tool, will need to be able to do the following * View all available wifi connections, including signal strength * persist saved wifi connections * choose one and connect * tell if connection is secure, and if so, prompt for password * simple swing GUI for browsing (looks like MS Windows Wifi Tool) * required only to run on windows, may require JNI for interfacing with hardware, needs to use an interface, and be relatively easy to swap out to another implementation (i.e. Linux libs) at a later point. * work with a variety of wifi chipsets To get an idea, it should look very similar to the MS Windows wifi connection tool in functionality and view. Can use any open source freely available libraries/tools/etc Needs to be designed in a very object oriented approach. To verify this, a sample standalone app should be created that uses the main libs to take one of your 'connection' objects, verify it is getting a signal, connect to it, and ping a webpage. This standalone app can be just a simple commandline app
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. GPL Libs are ok.
Swingapp and commandline test must both work, and be well commented. Commandline app should be very short in length showing the ease of use of the design. It should pretty much take a connection object and call methods on it to do basic actions like connect, disconnect, getStrength, etc etc
## Platform
Required only to run on Windows XP. Multi platform preferred, but may not be feasible with hardware constraints.
