We currently supply lots of schools with leavers' hoodies. The big trend at the moment is to have the class year on the back of these hoodies made up from all the leaving students' names. So, for example, last year we made up lots of 08s-from-names and this year we're going to make up lots of 09s-from-names. I currently pay a designer to make up all these graphics and it takes a lot of time and effort. This isn't really a job for a designer because they're not adding artistic value to the work, they're simply re-jigging names to make them fit neatly into the 09 shape. Basically it seems to me like a computing problem and if I had a piece of software that could output 09s in seconds, rather than hours, we would save a lot of time. There are a number of variables but they are finite so hopefully the problem is solveable: > Shape of 09 - there are a number of different 09 shapes; around 3 max. > Number of names - if there are too few names then they have to be repeated and the design has to be able to hold up to 750 names. The average is around 100-200 > Font of names making up 09 - 2-3 font-options would be great. Probably Arial, Tahoma, and Helvetica > Output must be a vector for printing - the output of the design must be an .EPS, .AI, or vectorised design for the printing. If the software could use or interact with adobe illustrator (so that we could tinker with the results) that would be great although I have now idea of this is possible. There some other things to note too: -The names don't have to be in alphabetical order, they just have to all be there. -The first and last name have to be together. However they can also be separated across a line (so John, then new line Smith) or they can be split over the gap created by the 0 or the 9 (so John then the gap from the letter then Smith). I hope this makes some kind of sense?

## Platform
Preferrably a Mac but windows is OK. A web-app would be fine.
