I have a stored procedure in MS SQL 2000 Server that is passed a parameter searchstr. The sp searches 5 columns in a table and returns matches to this string. The string is wild carded at the front and end with a %. The problem is that it must match the exact phrase if you pass more then one word as the string.
The SP needs to be changed so that SQL parses the search string and splits it into indivudal keywords - delimited by spaces - up to 10 keywords - and then does a CONTAINS(column,keyword1 and keyword2 and keyword3 etc....).
The SP must work if the search string is null or up to 10 keywords long.
This project is needed ASAP. I have attached a copy of the SP. I am very connected and will be available to answer any questions right away.
