File a Provisional Patent

Good Day, your Provisional patent application will be filed in the US Patent Office. It will be good for one year within which time you will need to file a follow-up Utility (regular) patent application. If you also wish to go international, you would need to file the Utility patent application through the PCT Office as well. There is no such thing as an international Provisional patent application. pm

Hi If this is a provisional why do you want to file both a US and Canadian? the usual way is to file a single national (the provisional) followed by multiple national/regional filings or PCT (international) filing within 12 months. You should just file the US provisional then follow up in 12 months with the PCT. My bid assumes you are micro entity. thanks ian
