Realtime video feeds to web page

I need some javascript code written that will enable multiple clients to stream their webcam to a server and then allow other browsers to view any of those webcams streams. The capturing must be done using getUserMedia(), the server code should be written in node.js. I understand that getUserMedia() is still only supported in limited browsers, but that is fine. I have found and tried several examples of this kind of thing online, but most appear to take a frame of video every xx ms and then copy that to the HTML5 canvas before dispatching it over a websocket connection to the node server, which in turn dispatches to connected clients. This is a good way towards what I am looking for, but simply not fast enough to achieve 20+ FPS, which is what I need. So I think a raw feed from the camera to the server which is then made available to one or more viewers is the way forward. On the viewer side, a page should be displayed with an icon/image for each currently available stream that is being streamed to the server at the given time, then if the user hovers over the image, the image changes to the live feed, so the browser will only ever be receiving one live feed at any one time, not all or multiple feeds. I am open to other suggestions on the server side if node.js is not quite the right answer, or needs additional resources, but the client sending the feed can only use JS, HTML5 etc, the same for the viewers of the streams too.
