Google Sheets Vehicle Pricing Project

Summary The requirement is to complete an existing Google Sheets spreadsheet with formula that automates the creation of search URL's for popular car sales websites. The websites are Autotrader, eBay, Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace. The URL's show vehicle prices which meet defined criteria. For example, the search criteria could be Fiat 500, 2012 model year, petrol, year of manufacture 2012, search radius of within 50 miles of the postcode G11EB. The core requirement is to make it quick and easy to get vehicle prices from Autotrader, eBay, Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace. Without a tool such as this a manual search would have to be performed on each website which is much more time consuming. Examples Here are sample links showing search results for criteria similar to above - Autotrader - [login to view URL] - eBay - [login to view URL] - Gumtree - [login to view URL] - Facebook market place - [login to view URL] If you look closely, each URL has parameters which define search criteria. Make, model, price, mileage etc. are all parameterised in the query string. It is quite straightforward to decipher these. In the sample spreadsheet supplied I have started to create entries for Autotrader, eBay and Gumtree. These are incomplete but they give a good starting point. You will see that each URL replaces the paramater with a named cell from the spreadsheet. Out of scope Getting the lowest and highest price is a manual process. You do not need to do anything here. Some form of screen scraping would be required to do this. I would welcome thoughts on how to do this if you have skills in that area. Your skills To complete this job you will need: - Good communication skills including written and spoken English - Strong technical knowledge of Google Spreadsheets. Specifically formula creation. Some parts of the formula creation are tricky. If you look at the Calculations worksheet you will see a formula I've named ebay_mileage_calculation. This translates the mileage into a parameter required for the eBay URL. Other parameters such as the eBay year will require a similar approach. Do not underestimate this work, it will require good spreadsheet formula skills. Deliverables Update the Google spreadsheet to meet the following criteria.
