Paid on delivery
To take an existing funtional legacy MFC application written in Visual C++ using Visual Studio 2008 and make changes to the interface so that it moves from tab and drop down based to a Multiple Document Interface format. The existing application (SXTune) is available to download for viewing and also a sample project (xTune) of roughly how it will look with the Windows Explorer MDI style interface. The application uses Lua scripts to define the parameters that are be displayed and communications protocols etc, this is to carry over unchanged. Some other changes are to be made to the interface, comprising: 1) Improvements to the 'scope' page, adding pause/play/rewind buttons, axes and live cursor values 2) Configurable desktop layouts that can be saved and loaded 3) Loading all the data from the external device into a memory buffer on connect, rather than as and when needed, to improve performance 4) Migrating the help file to the new format 5) Combining the existing 'variables' and 'map editor' tabs so that both are available through the 'explorer' format 6) User defined real time data viewing based on available lists from the lua scripts In general the application needs to be updated to feel more modern and be easier to use. Help and guidance will be given throughout the project on how the application should look, feel and operate.
