I would like to have a portable RFID reader produced. [Summary] The RFID reader will need to produce a voice-over audio output that differs depending on the code of the RFID tag being read. For example, if code DE1...47 is read then the output might be "Bob's tag". I need to be able to: a. see the codes that are on the RFID tags the system reads b. add new codes and related voice, audio outputs into memory so that I can customise the system. The system need only be able to remember a few RFID code/audio output combinations at this stage. The more the better but happy to keep it to a few to conserve money. [Basic parts] In my mind, at a high level the product needs to be portable (i.e. not so fragile that's it's tied to a desk) and have: (1) an RFID reader (2) a CPU that determines the audio output appropriate to the particular code read by the reader, and (3) an earpiece for producing the audio output. [Physical requirements] The RFID reader should be about 1m (3ft-ish) away from the CPU. The power source should be portable along with the remainder of the system. It is not critical that the power source be located on the same board as the CPU, but it is preferable. It doesn't need to be fancy. At this stage I'm just after something that I can put some codes into an change the audio output to the particular words that I'm after.

Hello Dear, I am an expert with more than 10 years of experience in the field of embedded systems, programming, electronics and circuit designs. I have worked on projects related to smart energy, military, telecommunications and medicine. I have worked with several MCUs like 8051, PIC, AVRs, MSP430 and ST. I have development tools (HW/SW) for all these. I have checked the details of your project and I am happy to offer my services here. I have worked in the past with RF circuits including Zigbee and Sub-Ghz. For RFID systems I have worked with popular MiFare Card reader RFC522 IC and CC2500 (RADIO). I am ready to build working prototypes for your project. I would charge you AUD 750 and deliver the following 1- Schematics design for the RFID system 2- PCB layout and Fabrication of x3 working PCBs 3- Components Sourcing and BOM purchase 4- Firmware development 5- development of 2 working prototypes 6- Testing and debugging of final boards 7- Shipment to your place (Shipping charges are not included) If you have any question please feel free to ask. Thank you for interesting project posting! Do you have and idea of MCU to use... I think AVR or MSP430 will be enought. MSP430 is great because it is top when talking about power-saving. MSP430 and AVR chips are extremly cheap... few dollars. If we take in to account portability Li-ion cell (3.7 volt) is great to use together with 3.3v MCUs because save on step-down DC, however TTL level conversion may be the issue.... it depend on which RFID reader you plan to use. which one? Sound quality is a question... if you need it to be excel - just onboard PWM may be used and we will save few bucks on extra DAC chip.... to store more sound samples external SPI flash IC may be used... not too expensive. I can develop for you not just source code and random almost useless circuit (as many quick freelancers may try) but will provide you Proteus project with real-time simulation which 100% proofs circuit is excellent. Anyway open for any suggestions. Best, Alex

Hi, i've worked with RFID in some school projects, this is more complicated but if you don't mind, i think we can use an RF so that RFID can be portable, that module will be connected to a pc, and we can work with a Labview interface so that you can add new Audio Files with some new names, also we can make an earpiece with bluetooth or also with an RF module so that also the earpiece could be wireless.

I have good knowledge about RFID systems design and implementation, my proposal for this project is to use sd card for recorded sounds and you can record and put sound files on the SD card by computer. In the portable device when you want to assign recorded sound to individual tag jus show cart to reader sensor and set the incoming code from sensor to sound file.

a. We are a very experienced team from India - from the premium colleges. My partner is a Ph.D b. Used to working with customers in Europe and USA c. Similar projects have been undertaken by us before - board design, production of first prototypes, documentation. d. We follow process based development ensuring that what is committed is what is delivered. e. Have developed battery operated systems, so we can design that will have low power consumption. We can also build in a charger if you like on the product. f. We have good experience with EMI/EMC testing, seismic/vibration tests, etc. - so we develop a product that would easily pass these tests first time. g. We know Audio - we have used CODECs - so digitizing the audio messages and playing them out over a speaker can be done. I am currently in Europe ( Germany ) till next weekend.
