I use to work with steel structures, I know every section or shape has a different use in the construction, (W, M, HP, C, MC, HSS, pipes, etc...) all these sections use to be useful for bridges, buidings, houses, etc.
I understand you need to calculate the weight of the structures, in this case, the weight of the steel, I'm interested in calculate it, for beams and columns we take the area of the section of the beam/column and the length of the beam/column, by multipying these data, we get the volume of the beam/column, and after that we multiply by 7.850 Kg/m3 (steel density), then we get the weight of this beam/column.
There are a lot of different cases to calculate the weight of steel structures, we have reinforcement steel for example. So this can show you, I am interested in this job, I know how to calculate, I just need that you share me information and I will help you, I will provide excel files, with results.
About bluebeam, don't worry, I will mark everything with the software so you can see what I am calculating. I hope you contact me very soon.
Thank you for your attention.
Kind regards.
