I have a hobby with friends and family playing laser tag. My laser tag guns are cool but the manufacturer has limitations on what can be done and not interested in customizing stuff. There is an app that sends and receives BLE communication to a laser tag gun. [login to view URL] What I need is a micro controller program, arduino ideally, for an esp32 or similar device that can pair to the tagger, then send and receive strings of characters. Sent strings are preset, received strings need to be able to be analyzed. Attached is a spreadsheet of different sample characters that need to be sent Uart over BLE.

Hi, I am an electronic engineer with more than 6 years of experience in Arduino programming. Actually for what you are looking , the solution would be to use ESP32 as a BLE master and let the Laser tag to connect to it. (If laser tag is acting master, ESP32 has to be the client.) This will be a very trial and error method, the making connection to the ESP32. But once we are done with that, it will be straight forward task to read data from it.
