In our development project it is necessary to control and manipulate the image sensor of the popular if not all major smartphones in order to achieve some special effects of the taken images. For this reason, the following is a list representing type of actions that need be performed by the App. 1. Turning the white strobe LED ON and OFF. 2. To read the current values indicating sensitivity status of the sensor: exposure duration and gain of the image sensor amplifier. 3. Placing the sensor in the automatic adjustment of exposure and gain based on the brightness and contrast in the central area of the frame. 4. Placing the sensor in the running mode with exposure and gain specified at certain values independently of the image quality requirements. 5. Resetting at any time the “electronic” image accumulated by the image sensor. 6. Starting exposure of a new image at any time. 7. Ending exposure process at any time after the start. 8. Reading the values indicating current focus quality. 9. Controlling and/or monitoring events of the sensor image data acquisition. This list is just an illustration of type of functions that need to be included in the application. Please, indicate if you have ability to implement such functions into the desired app. We would like to start with an app for Android OS (versions 4.0 and up), then move onto iOS.
