PR-051: Create Android XBMC Plugin Job Type: Short-Term Contract In your application please ensure the job code (PR-051) is shown. ************************* Contract Description: -------------------------- This is a short term contract to develop an Add-On for XBMC running on an Android TV box. The Add-On will access streaming and on-demand video content from sites in Canada and around the world and make them easily viewable by Canadian residential customers. This means invoking a DNS Proxy server for sites in the USA that take modest steps to resist access from outside the USA, or when necessary using a VPN tunnel with presence in the source country when the source takes vigorous steps to prevent access from outside their country. After the basic Add-On is operational there is an opportunity for longer-term contract involvement evolving the Add-On to support additional streaming sources, additional streaming protocols, additional encryption models, and so on. You MUST have prior experience developing an Add-on for XBMC. In general this means you are proficient with Python, very familar with XBMC, and normally you will have some experience creating applications for the Linux or Android operating system. This project will kick-off as soon as the right programmer can be located. Once basic operation is demonstrated, an additional ongoing support contract is possible, to enable further enhancements, tweaks, and maintenance. Financial Compensation: ----------------------------------- This job is paid on an hourly wage basis. The wage rate is to be negotiated.

Hi, My name is Nargiza Sarkulova. I graduated from University of Cambridge majoring in Advanced Computer Science. I've been involved in different kinds of projects: Android apps, Android games based on frameworks like AndEngine, database-driven systems based on Hibernate, test-driven development with JUnit, hybrid systems that were built using pair of languages: Java-PHP, Java-Python, and many others. I am very attentive to details and prefer to have a clear picture from a client before starting a project. This approach keeps us from misunderstandings and making mistakes in future, and so saves both client's and my time. If you are interested let's have a chat. Regards, Nargiza

*Application for PR-051* Hey, I love this project. I really do. Not only do I love webscraping and Python, but I also have myself a very own XBMC-mediaserver(actually, it's an old laptop that I installed Arch Linux and XBMC on and cleverly hid behind the TV). I'm currently a third-year Artificial Intelligence student at Groningen University I know I don't have the most amazing profile(I don't even have any reviews!), but I really really really really feel that I'm the guy for the job. The problem is convincing you of that :). My hourly price is on the high end(15 dollars an hour). Without falling into the trap of generalizations and discrimination, there seems to be a trend with programmers mainly from India and other developing countries where people hire the developer for a really low hourly fee, only to find out the developer took three times as long, and, especially that, the code is written in a manner that means it will break at the first sight of trouble, and adding features is simply not possible. With some applications, that's OK. But video-websites change all the time, breaking stuff... all the time. I'm not pretending that my code will keep working when that happens. But what I am saying is that, a year from now, should the code break, not only I can fix it, but others can as well. And, a year from now, should you want ten more websites implemented, the architecture, VPN-code, all that stuff, will be nicely laid out, so developers can just plug in their expansion
