Special Effects Needed For Film Reel

I am in the preproduction phase of shooting a reel for my Hollywood reps and I'll need 1-3 shots with eye-catching CGI to increase production value. Pros need only apply--none of this After Effects Youtube-quality BS. The CGI will have to look like it was shot on location, anything less will detach the audience which I can not afford to happen considering the target audience for this project. Since it's in pre-pro I expect to start shooting in a couple months but I need to have a dialogue with my CGI artist before production starts to see what we can pull off on a limited budget. Because nothing is set in stone I'll just give you an idea of what I'm looking for at this time-- The opening shot overlooking the Pacific Ocean from the Venice pier with a METEOR and its DEBRIS TRAIL looming in the background. Not a fast meteor strike like in an action movie, the effect should give a sense of dread--of inevitability--hanging in the air, taunting us. Though not a close up, it still needs to feel real. Maybe instead of moving like a plane in the sky, it's actually moving in slow motion. The effect should be dynamic, rich and its movement silky and billowing. (Not looking for a meteor that looks like a streak of spray paint). The shot will only last a few seconds, which I will shoot in 2.5K RAW (or possibly ProRes). Take a look at this Deep Impact sequence -- [login to view URL] -- my needs are VERY different but it's hard to find a good looking CGI meteor on YouTube that doesn't look like a spray paint trail. Another atmospheric effect may include a 2 second nuclear blast "white-out"--we don't see anything hit just the aftermath when the light of the explosion takes over. Within the narrative sequences, there may be bullet wound special effect needed and probably one really cool abstract effect with an actor--tonally, think Matthew McConaughey's visions in HBO's True Detective ([login to view URL]). Grounded special effects that compliment real-world scenarios always play the best in my opinion. I can't see more than 1-3 shots needed that I predict won't be more 10-12 seconds of actual rendered footage total. At this time there's a lot of creative leeway so I encourage you to make contact and show me your work. The reel will be a mash-up of shots and sequences that will ultimately come together in the end. It will be used exclusively as a reel for my reps to give producers and actors around town with my screenplays. *Please don't bid if you have no experience with film. I need a REAL PRO that completely understands the difference between Hollywood-level work and amateur attempts. **A milestone will be added once I find the right artist.
