We search a Windows 8 programmer in order to port on Windows 8 a virtual printer driver that works on Windows XP/VISTA/7
- We provide the (C++ or NSIS...) source code (that is currently maintained with QT and packaged with NSIS)
- The freelancer adapts the code so that the driver installs on Windows 8
Delivery consists in the the modified source code and a description of the modifications made
Current situation: the virtual printer driver runs on Windows XP/VISTA/7 but does not install on Windows 8. We have a proper certificate for signing the code. Installation (NSIS) goes to the end without error message but the driver is not installed (the virtual printer is not listed among the printers). We suspect that the Windows API function 'rundll32 [login to view URL],PrintUIEntry' is not well implemented.
Hi,
My name is Asanka and I am an experienced C++ programmer. I have experience in implementing driver software for both windows and Linux. Also I am familiar with nulsoft installer system and Qt.
There are some changes in win api from windows 7 to 8. I suspect that is why your program is failing on win 8. However it is not possible to come to any conclusions without looking at the problem.
I would like to work on this project and I am confident that I can port this software successfully into windows 8.
Hope to get reply from you.
Thanks.
Asanka

we have developed several versions of virtual printer driver. for XP/7/8 x32/x64.
With saving output as PostScript, PDF or raster image. With possibility to catch printed strings with coordinates, font and color parameters.
We also can send the file by SMTP or MAPI (Outlook). We also can request Outlooks contacts and show them
The proposal is preliminary. The final period and sum will be calculated after discussion.
