Format SD Card from VB6 without System Volume Information folder

Currently I format the SD card by shelling out to DOS as shown below: X$ = "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\[login to view URL] " + FlashDrive$ + " /X" Erx = Shell(X$, 1) '2 = minimized This would produce a blank SD card. Now Win 10 (and possibly Win 7) produces the System Volume Information folder which interferes with how we write data to the card via a small microprocessor. I need a method of formatting the SD card without this folder being produced. I believe even deleting it later will produce problems.
