I would like a program that has to be installed on a users computer that asks for a URL to be entered and then I want that URL to be stored as an argument in the shortcut that can allow the URL to be easily changed if needed. The program/icon which is stored on the local users desktop would be double clicked to open the website denoted in the URL parameters. I would also like a way to send someone a URL with the address in the filename so that they can do a one-click install option such as ApplicationName_website-com--help--something ( single dash mark will be converted to a dot "." double dash will be converted to a slash "/" ) This icon will have a custom icon which is our business logo which will be provided. I want the application to be as little resource intensive as possible and have the ability to work on all machines Windows 7 or greater. I've had other applications commissioned that I haven't been happy with so I'm hoping this one will work a bit better.

Greetings, I'm Windows developer specialising in C++ and the Win32 API; and can do this for your quite quickly - assuming I understand you correctly. Am I right in understanding that you want this program shortcut to be placed on the desktop, and when clicked, you want that program to a) initially ask for a program URL b) the next time it's clicked to open that URL in a ** WEB BROWSER** such as IE, Chrome etc?
