A customized Java program to produce a .txt file from Point of Sale System daily back up files, save the file into a given location, then FTP them over to a server location. For the txt file, the program is to read and process data from the back up file and populate the required data into an automated generated text file.
The program can be scheduled to run at a given time of day after the point of sales system has been manually ‘reset’ at the end of the business day
The program should be able to be triggered to run manually if required, and a log file to indicate if the program ran successfully or not e.g. failed due to no internet connectivity.
Detailed specifications are provided in the attached files, as is an example of the source file (already unzipped - *.rcz file. Open in Notepad), and an excel file explaining the source file in more detail with a mapping between the source file and required data to be placed in the .txt file.

I have experience in similar kind of project, find the below details:
SyncServer stores the files received from Route Power on the importing directory corresponding to the route that is responsible for the connection. As the Back Office System notices that data has arrived, it automatically starts the importing process.
Then SyncServer sends the files that are at the route’s exporting directory to the Route Power. These files were previously created by the Back Office System and have the updated information to the salesmen.
• Automatic version update for the software currently at the HHC;
• Possibility of use of different software versions for each route, allowing a new version to be updated gradually;
• Automatic reconnection in case of a connection failure, continuing transmission from the point it stopped (no byte is sent twice);
• Automatic date time update during data transmission; Our India contact numbers have been changed.
I've over 5 years of experience in the Java technologies. Right now working with one e-commerce company where I'm handling few accounting modules. Here I need to generate summarized metrics from all sales report (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly) based on different filters.
I know how to schedule job and log management. I've gone through the document you have provided. Just a question can I use some extra java library for this program? Also I need JDK6.
Open to start work on it asap. Thank.
