Please develop a discussion paper providing an analysis of the different epistemological approaches, paradigms, and research methodologies in an area you identify. To decide on the area you are going to write about you can EITHER a) pose a research question OR b) define 2-3 keywords. The main intention of this paper is to engage you-- as a researcher--with methodological and philosophical questions in your prospective research area. In writing your paper; 1) Make sure that you focus on a specific aspect: For example, how is auto-ethnography as a methodology used in exploring issues of media, identity, and culture? What is the dominant research methodology in public relations and what are the issues left out from the discussion? What is self-reflexivity and how is it used in arts research? 2) Make sure you have a good sense of the researches done in your area; 3) Develop a comprehensive in-depth critical analysis of the readings by comparing and contrasting the main research questions, methodologies, epistemological standpoints, and ethical issues discussed; 4) Present a well- developed an argument about the possible position you might take in your prospective possible research in the specified area. 5) Please remember that this assignment is in the form of a "discussion paper¿ with thoroughly developed main arguments, thoroughly developed discussion points, in-depth analysis, and relevant and well-justified examples and references. 6) Papers should be around 4500 - 5000 words (including references) following APA citation format.
