Module 1: Setting Up Environment The first step involves setting up the environment for running the API using Docker. This includes configuring the server and installing the pre-requisites such as Docker and related components. We will also need to ensure all the necessary security measures like a proper firewall and strong passwords are in place. Module 2: Building the Image The second step involves building a Docker Image for the API. We will need to decide the base operating system and the language and frameworks that will be used for the API. Once we have the list of needed packages and dependencies, we will use a Dockerfile to build the Docker Image. Module 3: Deploying the Image The third step is to deploy the Docker Image to a production environment such as Google Cloud Run or Kubernetes. We can also use a managed solution like AWS Fargate or Google Cloud Platform. This requires defining the environment and services, setting up auto-scaling, network configuration and other related tasks. Module 4: Security and Maintenance Finally, the API must be secured and maintained. Security measures such as firewalls, encryption, API keys, and access control should be implemented. Regular patches and updates should also be applied. We can use alerting and logging to monitor the API for any suspicious activity or errors. Overall, a comprehensive maintenance plan should also be in place.
