Flash Application

Recently the latest Yahoo and MSN windows appear to be created in a Flash like style which is very pleasing to the eye. I now understand that there are apps like mProjector which compile FLASH applets to be into cross platform exe's. My requirement is for a desktop SMS client. Ideally the test ground is Windows although eventually I want MAC support also. The application will follow a very simple email type format. All messages are posted via an HTTPS post and have replies and delivery receipts collected through a POP3 socket. This type of application would be very easy to complete in a VB environment but that is NOT what I want. My other thought would have been RealBasic as this has cross platform support, however I have not seen any nice GUI type forms for this language. The application must be very pleasing to the eye and follow the example of hotmail or yahoo mail notifcations when an incoming message is received. The application would be visible on clicking an icon in the system tray. The basic functions will be. Sending text messages only Compose an SMS text message of up to 160 characters. Be able to select the id of the sender from a drop down combo box. Select a check box to determine if the message requires a receipt Select the message recipients from an address book held locally. Perform and HTTPS Post to send the message to multiple recipients. Store the outgoing message text for display in a sent message list. Administer the contacts and contact groups for sending messages. These should be stored in an XML file held locally. Retrieve msgs from a POP3 server for which the configuration will be held locally. The email body will contain fields within XML which should be parsed and displayed. The messages will be stored in a local folder for displaying in a list. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Windows 32 Mac OS (eventually)
