silverlight fake 3d rotating earth

Hi, There is an article here that demonstrates the steps to produce a fake rotating 3d earth. I woul like someone to recreate this using silverlight 3 / 4. There is another alternative, and this would be to produce a 3d rotating globe (not a fake effect) and do proper rotation (so proper 3d object with a map tiled onto the object).
