Technical Requirements • Content Management System o Each webpage within the site should have word content that is modifiable by the website administrator. o Examples of webpages: Front Page, About Us, Contact Us, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, etc. o Proper formatting and modifications to the content should be explained by the web designer. • Account Creation and Management o Ability for web site users to go to an online form page, input information such as name, number, address, dealership, e-mail address, username and password. o Once information is submitted they would need to be able to pay using a payment gateway of some sort. o An automatic e-mail should be sent to them confirm their registration and membership to the site. o Website administrator should be able to control access to website based on their payment. o Number of concurrent logins should be controllable. For example, only one computer can be logged in using the same user name at one time. • Login and Password Portal o A portal for site members to login is required. • Database creation and integration with easy to modify database o The main content of the site: Negative Evidence Manual, ECONOMY comparator, PERFORMANCE comparator, COMFORT comparator, SAFETY comparator, Up-to-Date Incentives Table, and Incentives comparator must all draw from a large database. o These database values are numerous and always changing, thus the data collector must have an easy way to collect and upload this data into the database.  The database collector will most likely collecting data from the internet and inputting it into an Excel file. Thus, the database needs to be able to import values from an Excel file. • Email Accounts with Auto Responding Transactional Emails o Website must have e-mail accounts such as: , . o When a user signs up for the website, an auto responding e-mail must be sent. o Consultation on how to set up such a system is required from the web designer. • Search Engine Optimization o Website must be Search Engine Optimized for web search engines such as Google. • Fast loading and low on data usage o Website must be optimized for speed and have a low data loading footprint. • Hosting Consultancy o Web designer must be able to consult on the correct kind of hosting needed for project. o Suggestions for web hosts is required, setting up the web host is not, as I will be shopping for the best rates that fit the needs of the website. • Payment Gateway Consultancy o Web designer must be able to consult on the right kind of Payment Gateway technology needed for website. o I will be using a 3RD party payment gateway such as [login to view URL] or [login to view URL], these payment gateways must be integrated into the site. • Data Gathering Consultancy o This website project involves and immense amount of data collection. I would need consultancy by the web designer in how to best manage and find the right people for the data gathering aspects of the project. • Marketing E-mail Letter o Marketing will be done primarily through targeted e-mails, thus a well designed e-mail must be designed by the website designer. • E-Mail Marketing Consultancy o Web designer must be able to consult on the best way to market through e-mail. o Must have knowledge in how to send out mass e-mails that avoid spam filters and get the message out. • Video/Animation Playback o Website must be able to play Flash or Web Video on the front page for marketing reasons. o Web site designer must be able to consult on how to get a video made for the website. • Website Demo Tool o A tool that allows non users (people who have not subscribed to the service yet) to create a Vehicle Comparison Demo which will be emailed to them or shown on the website.
