Prestashop 1.4.9 - Categories block not displaying in order!! - repost

We have a website based on prestashop 1.4.9, everything in the site is stock, no customization, or any kind of tampering. the website is working in with the exception to one module "Categories block v2.0 by PrestaShop" which is not doing what its supposed to. This module has the ability to allow changing the order in whihc categories & sub-categories are being displayed on the left panel of the site & there are two settings: By position OR By name. Neither of these settings seem to work, & no matter what we do, it displays the categories in a random order & we haven't figured out what is with it. Research shows that it is a bug with Prestashop 1.4.9, so we've upgraded to 1.5 but in vain, the problem was still there! despite of the fact that the 1.5 was slower & it didn't bring anything we needed, we reverted back to Prestashop 1.4.9 Disabling or Reanabling the template doesn't affect the issue, it continues to persist. I have basic knowledge of PHP/HTML/CSS I've looked at the code, & i know that the problem is somewhere within the module libraries, or the PHP code itself. I am no programmer, but I have played around the code for hours without success, I bringing this problem here, in the hope that someone who has sufficient prgramming knowledge can fix it. This is a very small project, the ETA & costs should be according to that. if someone with adequat knowledge, & who can communicate in Eglish properly, feel free to bid. I am willing to provide full access to our system, or a DEV system with FTP/SSH/PHPMYADMIN to allow the task, & pay between $35-$75 as long as the project is compleeted in between 48h-12h. Example: $75 for 12h, $50 for 24h, & $35 for 48h
