Cross-Frame Javascript

I need a javascript that will reside in one frame and read a sentence contained in a span tag. Then count the words in the sentence and put the number of words in a form field on the same frame as the span and then submit the form. The javascript also needs to read a date string from the other frame and initialize a countdown clock. I will provide the webpage with the frames that the javascript needs to be built around.
