Write a carbon or cocoa application (or produce a working piece of carbon or cocoa code) to grab window content from another application's window. The content grabbed should not include what is behind the window if it has some transparency. I've had trouble with this, you may have to find and use some undocumented API like CGSGetSharedWindow or another hack. I am open to suggestions! Suggestions: + Take a look at the apple "Grab" application - how does it work out window position and data for window capture? + Google for CGSWindow.h and investigate functions within + Have a look at the CGSGetSharedWindow function, could that work? CGSGetScreenRectForWindow? CreatePortForWindow?
