We have a requirement for a small web form / data entry application that employees can use to record assets within a building. It has to be accessible via web forms (incl. mobile or tablet). In simple terms, the users will go around to each room in a building, select the room they are auditing, enter information about the room (i.e. floor type, number of windows), then add the assets that are in that room (i.e. a table, computer, printer) and details about them (asset type, serial number, model number), then log any relevant maintenance tasks required for the asset. I've added a rough table/form diagram explaining this graphically We already have a working prototype in excel along with a rough user-guide (which will essentially give the tables, forms and workflows required for the application) - this will be provided upon request (still have a bit of cleaning up to do to first) Based on this working excel prototype, we want a basic implementation that is accessible via the web on mobile/tablet (sharepoint?), we have microsoft office 365 and azure are imagining the use of microsoft access or powerapps could be the way to go, but are open to other ideas if they are cheaper and/or better/easier to maintain/change etc. It doesn't need to be very pretty or scalable, it will just be used internally every now and then when we need to audit a building to populate a CMMS asset register Please contact me with any queries, happy to do more to help specify this up front to get the most accurate quote

Let me first share you my experience what is minimum requirement to build an asset management system. At the same time, I can understand that its may difference in your case. Asset Management is the combination of management, financial, economic, engineering and other practices applied to physical assets with the objective of providing the required level of service in the most cost effective manner. It includes the management of the whole life cycle (design, construction, commissioning, operating, maintaining, repairing, modifying, replacing and decommissioning/disposal) of physical and infrastructure assets. - Life cycle costing - Assessment of asset acquisition, replacement and rehabilitation - Development of maintenance policies and procedures - Assist with requirements analysis for the acquisition of asset management information systems - Develop asset condition assessment policies and procedures - Analise asset condition data to determine and schedule asset replacement and rehabilitation But from my understandings may you are not looking for such complex item. You are looking for a Crud application where you can manage your inventories and at the same time you will have a good reporting tools. I just want to make sure you are looking for any graphical reporting tools or not. Will wait for you to share my more experience.

I would try to do a simple list with either lookup field or a custom JS search field. It would depend on the fact how do You intend to use it in regards to searching or using the information entered. For the outside Mobile/Tablet inserts PowerApp would be best i guess. A separate app webapp can be made, but it needs a hosting and takes more time to make. Workflows may not be needed, but that depends on Your needs. Perhaps a Flow might be more interesting as it is more integrated with O365 or a custom JS code to perform sort of state-like actions.

I do rapid web application development. As soon as the database structure is in place, the application will be complete within hours since there does not seem to be too much business logic to be included. Can be developed using MS Access (version please), MySQL or MS SQL. This will include web app and web mobile application. Please forward the spreadsheet to me when completed to have a look at. Maybe I can have some input since I have developed a few asset systems in the past as well.
