Dear... If you are using linux, and based on your decision to use rrdtool, you can choose to generate scripting to obtain and store data, in addition to generating reports. But you also have the option of using MRTG scripts (it use rrdtool). This will greatly speed up your deployment, since it has these tools included. My proposal is to help you in the deployment of MRTG by getting traffic routers via snmp.
