I hope you have already checked the release notes of 3.4 version and checked the compatibility of this version with your applications. Also to upgrade from 2.4 to 3.4, first we need to upgrade to 3.0 and then 3.4. For setting up the replication, minimum 3 nodes will be required. One will serve as primary, second as secondary and last node as arbitrary ( helps to elect primary node ).

Hi I had worked with mongodb sharding and migration I need 1 or 2 days to do analysis of current db. Then I will be able to create a failsafe policy which can be leveraged with the target db in doing flip over I had worked with mongo having more than 400gb of data we had tried migration to a very different data store. as this seems to be between mongo 2.4 to 3.x we can easily take this up. Thanks
