Web Frontend Developer

Job Description: The project team is currently looking for an experienced Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. We do provide a corresponding office, locations are in Santa Monica, CA and Denver, CO. We have a very creative working environment and we want to bring the best out of everyone in our team and in order to do so we believe it is best to bring people together. For the project duration the team will be located either in the Santa Monica office or in the Denver office (ideally at least 75% we would like the contractor to be there), we find that communication is clearer and the work flow is much easier. Regular working hours are (9-5 PST/9-5 MST). We are interested in creating a larger network within these two cities and hoping to keep contractors on a consistent basis or hiring them on full-time. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. Responsibilities: - Develop new user-facing features - Build reusable code and libraries for future use - Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs - Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability - Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end - Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders Skills And Qualifications: - Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 - Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS - Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks - Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS, Dynamic and live chart components like (amcharts, highcharts) - Difference between the mobile and the desktop use case - Mobile experience - Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX - Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus. - Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as: Git / Mercurial - Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
