Overview:
You are to implement a computer-based variant of the card game War. This is a two-player card game played with a standard deck of cards in which the aim of the game is to capture all cards in the deck. When one player has all 52 cards, the game is over.
Basic Play:
To begin, all 52 cards from a standard deck of cards are evenly split randomly between two players.
The game plays as follows:
• Each player turns over the top card in their deck. This is called a "Battle".
• Whichever player has the highest card claims both cards and puts them at the end of their collection. The value of the card is based on the number value, with 2 being the lowest and Ace being highest. "Picture" cards are ordered lowest to highest Jack, Queen, King, Ace.
• If both cards have the same value, "War" breaks out (detailed below)
• This continues until one player has all 52 cards, in which the game ends
War:
If the value of both cards is the same, "War" takes place. It has the following rules:
• Each player takes the top 4 cards from their deck. The 4th card is revealed. Whoever has the highest value on that 4th card claims all cards. If it is a draw again, this process is repeated.
Game Modes:
Your game should have two modes that can be chosen at the beginning of your program:
1. Versus Computer Mode - In this mode one player can play against a computer opponent
2. Simulation Mode - In this mode you simulate a complete game with no human players. At the end of the game, you must report on who won, how many "battles" and how many "Wars" occurred in the game
Functionality:
• Game set up, including getting player names, dealing cards, etc.
• Basic game play, including battles
• Implementation of "war" functionality
• Appropriate display to screen
• Implementation of simulation mode
• End game condition
Extra Functionality:
You should make some individual additions to this, however could include such features as (but is certainly not limited to):
• Changing how a draw in "war" is handled
• Making a particular type of card have special powers in a battle or war
Program Design:
You should implement your program using the following classes (as a minimum, you may include more if appropriate):
• Player class: Holds details of the player including a collection of cards, contains only aspects that relate to a "card", i.e. no data members or member functions that are not directly related to a card
• Card class: Consists of the value and suit of the card, contains only aspects that relate to a "player", i.e. no data members or member functions that are not directly related to a player
hi there I have done WAR game before. I would like to do this project if given the opportunity. let me know if you are interested so I can have further details. thanks.
Hello, I love c&c]] since more than 21 years ago ... you can see my previous works. Also, I have master and PhD in computer science. I should be a good option. PLease, let me know if it is a console application, or graphics. Also, give me the entire statement. Best Regards!
I am very proficient in c and c++. I have 16 years c++ developing experience now, and have worked for more than 6 years. My work is online game developing, and mainly focus on server side, using c++ under linux environment. I used c++ to make many great projects, for example, I made the tools which can convert java files into c++ scripts, of course garbage collection included, this job is very similar to a compiler, and is very complex. I also made our own mobile game using c++, I can show you the demo of client, if you like. I am very proficient in java also. I have a very good review on Freelancer.com, I never miss a project once I accept the job, you can check my review. Trust me, please let expert help you.
Hello, i am expert in java/c/c++ and i can deliver any task in least time and least payments. The code will be well commented
and well formatted for better understanding. I believe in long term relations so first check your work then release the
payments.
Pm me for further details. Thank You!
Hi there,
I just want to say that I am new here but I can do the quality work.
Give me your project to do and I will give you the perfect code with after delivery support.
Feel free to inbox me now.
Hi,
I'm experienced C/C++ developer working curently in Verifone company. I can implement this project for you in C++ or C++11 if you want. It should take for me no longer than 2 workings days (count from job accepting). I will provide well written (self commented ) code and will provide descriptions for unclear parts of code pointed by you.
Best regards,
Konrad
I have a lot of experience with projects like this. I have work a lot with C++ I'm sure I will be able to help you. Just need more information about what you need. Please contact me with more details
Hello Sir, you are required to built a computer based card game in c++. I can make this assignment of yours by using object oriented programming C++. In this case, you will ealsy get to understand the code and all the functionalities. In fact, my last freelancing project was to design a 2D Maze game and to find the shortest path to reach the end. You can read the review of my client of that project. Hope you will come to chat to disscusse your other requirments.
Thanks.
i've worked with c++ for over 3 year and i've made some simple games with c++ and SDL for gui but i've some questions first
do you it with gui or just console game?
would you run the game on windows or linux machine ?
I am an expert on C++ programming, which as you may know, is the most efficient of all Object Oriented Language. The game that you required a program of can be efficiently created using only a single class, but as you explicitly said that you wanted to separate the Player fields and the Card fields, which also can be conveniently done as you asked.
My proposed program consists of two classes: Player and Card:
A game session contains two Card Objects; inside the two Player Objects which represents the players of the game.
We can randomize the contents of the Card Objects within each player at the beginning of the game. After that, the program continues as per your logic, until the end is reached. Since the game is logically simple, there is no need to embed advanced search algorithms, that we normally expect in the two player, zero sum game like this.
By creating the game, I assume you meant to say, you need only the two classes that you mentioned and there is no need for gaming graphics. If you want a game with graphics, I will be unable to complete that in only five days.
Looking forward to working with you.........
Hello first of all,
I would like to clear a few things if it is alright,
1 ) "Appropriate display to screen" in this I am assuming you are talking about graphic programming but what kind of graphics you are expecting? Or is it just text on console output? Or are you going to provide 2d or 3d materials for application?
2 ) I have read the game rules a few times but I must say, I couldn't see (maybe I misread) any move made by players? It seems like after player clicks to play rest is like roulette game, player has no impact on outcome. Can you explain further or point out the details I missed?
3 ) This project seems to be simple and can be faster and cheaper with other programming language, so is it necessity to use c++?
4) This seems like an assignment or homework? Then what is the due date?
If you can contact me as soon as possible it would be best.
I am using C for the last 7-8 years and C++, Java, Python for last 4 years. Usually I do not work on freelance works and as you can see that's why my profile is un-updated. I'm working on a research lab in a university but I'm in need of money so looking for a project that I can finish quickly. If you are interested let me know.
