Hi:
I am brand new to Freelancer, so wanted to write a few lines about myself and my credentials.
My education is in English, Poetry, Art, and Law. My professional experience is in freelance writing, a bi-monthly column in a Colorado newspaper (when I lived there), and in legal writing. Lawyers have hired me for years to write their appeal briefs, evidence motions, etc. They call me when they have a 75 page brief to write, and they need me to craft it into a document a judge may actually read. Attorneys don't always do a gracious job of representing themselves; they hire someone like me to make them look good.
I think I've been elected as the "difficult client handler" at offices I've worked with and, ultimately, this results in my re-writing the company's standard correspondence, human resource forms, etc., particularly with when they have any concern about disputes or their public image.
I adore PR work; and feel press releases are a vital spoke of the wheel that is a company's impression. A company's personality and professionalism should be apparent from the first contact. Its website, its initial correspondence; solicitation letters, etc., should all have a lovely continuity; they should be without error; and they should be impeccably and creatively written. Most companies blend together; I believe company's can stand apart just by adjusting their initial impression.
Thank you for your consideration,
JILL RUSIN
