You must live in The Western Balkans, Eastern Europe, The Russian Federation, or Egypt. You must possess an ESP32 development board with 4 MB of pSRAM (such as an ESP32-WROVER), a temperature sensor (such as a DS18B20), and a 2 or 4 or 8 or 16 channel relay module. Eventually the Household Appliance Controller version 1.0 (HAC 1.0) will be sold as a consumer electronic product for more than 50 US dollars (fifty US dollars). HAC 1.0 will control household appliances similar to the… SONOFF SNZB-02 - ZigBee temperature and humidity sensor [login to view URL] However, you will create HAC 0.2 for this project. HAC 0.2 is a proof of concept project (a prototype). HAC 0.2 will be released under an MIT license. Yes, this is a free and open source software project. You will post each version of the software you create on my GitHub account and on… [login to view URL] Because it will be released under an MIT license obviously you may also post the code you create on your own personal website or your own account on GitHub, Bitbucket, GitLab, etc. Using MicroPython on an ESP32 you will create a product that can power on and power off household appliances such as heaters, air conditioners, and toaster ovens based on temperature. HAC 0.2 will be very simple. I will use HAC 0.2 to power on and power off an ordinary portable household electric heater. Specifically, I will plug an ordinary portable household electric heater into HAC 0.2. Then I will plug HAC 0.2 into an ordinary household electrical outlet here in Los Angeles (120 V/60 Hz). I will then use the HAC 0.2 like an ordinary thermostat to control the heater. I am not sure what the user interface will be for HAC 0.2. I suppose—to keep it simple—the user interface might be an LCD display controlled by two push buttons. In such a case, I imagine pushing one button would increase the temperature of the thermostat whereas pushing the other button would decrease the temperature of the thermostat. If you have a better idea for a simple user interface, please let me know. I am not very concerned about the user interface for HAC 0.2. *** LOCATION *** You must live in... 1. Bosnia and Herzegovina (my most preferred country), or 2. Kosovo, or 3. Montenegro, or 4. Serbia, or 5. Albania, or 6. North Macedonia. If you do not live in one of the countries listed above then I am willing to consider working with you if you live in... 7. Ukraine, or 8. Belarus, or 9. Romania, or 10. Moldova, or 11. The Russian Federation, or 12. Egypt (my least preferred country). Because relatively few people live in the countries I specified in the Western Balkans, I am willing to consider working with a resident of Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Moldova, The Russian Federation, or Egypt. However, frankly I have not had good experiences dealing with people who live in those countries. Let me reiterate: I am not speaking (writing) based on abstract theories but rather based on my own experiences. I am sorry if I have offended your sense of national pride. Really. I am. Perhaps your country is a great place to live (except for your country's government, which, let me guess, is infamously corrupt). However, I am not interested in your country generally. Really. I am not. Instead, I don't want you to waste your time. See, I would be willing to work on this project with a man who lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina or Kosovo who seems like merely a good candidate to me but in order for me to work with a man who lives in Egypt or The Russian Federation, that candidate would need to seem like an excellent candidate to me.
