Hi, Myself Nithin, AWS Solution Architect . I have a good experience in creating and managing AWS Resources like EC2, RDS, Kinesis, ELB, VPC using Cloud Formation Templets. From your requirement I understood that you want to add an SSL certificate to your instance. Even though you have a single instance I still recommend to use an Elastic Load balancer for security and future scalability. You can upload the SSL certificate to your AWS account or Certificate manager (announced one month back) and attach that certificate with the ELB and Route 53.
