I have a xenserver 6.2 running 4 vms 2 x windows server 2008 r2 1 x windows 7 desktop. 1 x centos (2 ips) The server is running xendesktop, however the server keeps crashing apparently due to an issue with the realtek network card. I need someone to move the windows and centos machines to hyper v 2008 R2, I was thinking of using the desktop version with GIU and installing hyper v onto that as a service. An external server is available that holds the backups in OVA format i will create new ones with Xentools uninstalled. These will need to be converted to Hyper V. Security and other issues for the hyper V server will need to be completed. On the 2nd server veeam backup will need to be configured and allowed to run on a daily basis. On completion xendesktop and the centos vms and content should work as they do now. Only people with Virtualisation, and Hyper V expirence should bid. Please type Hyper VV 88 in bid so i know read this There is a facility to install windows 2008 R2. I will take care of this. I will also provide the backups in XVA file format (not OVA) on an external server with windows 2008 installed with a 100mb connection on same network. Tools are available to do this like xenconvert. The centos kernel appears to be non citrix based. Reporting as kernel-2.6.32-358.el6.x86_64 kernel-2.6.32-358.18.1.el6.x86_64 kernel-2.6.32-358.23.2.el6.x86_64 We can backup the centos plesk machine with plesk backup to ftp, install fresh centos and plesk and import that way. Although long winded and not ideal. id prefer the image to be moved over. But at least we have the option.

Hello :) I write here again what I wrote in the other project . There are at least two ways to migrate virtual machines . One option is to export the virtual machines OVF . Once exported , convert VHD files VHDX files and create new virtual machines using those disks . ( This method has its drawbacks , but it can work ) . The second option is to create a virtual machine on the new server. Install windows server 2012 r2 (trial ) and system center virtual machine manager 2012 r2 . SCVMM can manage servers with vmware and xenserver and convert virtual machines from different platforms. Once we complete the migration , we can eliminate this virtual machine . If you migrate to HyperV , I highly suggest you Migres to HyperV 2012 R2 . The performance is much better than in windows server 2008 r2 . I noticed that OVH already offers "Windows HyperV Server 2012 " operating system. I love to help , so think and tell me .

Can do this in a few hours considering the size of your vms to be small... If they are big they might take the entire day.....
