DesktopApp - Products Reporting Tool - step #1

The objective of this (first part of the) project is to create a C# or VB.NET Desktop Application to count how many products, by category, have been sold on a daily and weekly basis (product are stored on a SQL Server 2005 database) The Database tables map a hierarchy of REPARTO -> SETTORE -> FAMIGLIA: you have to create a "navigation" system, like Explorer folders which allow the user to browse that hierarchy (there's a graphic proposal in the attachments). Each "Reparto" could be "selected" with a checkbox and the related "Settori" will come up in the next column. The same way one or more "Settori" could be selected and the same for "Famiglia" and so on. Hope this is clear enough, it should be with the help of the images attached) The selected items will be put into a report that will be looking like a plain table (see attachments again) ## Deliverables The concept of "Famiglia" is a **category** of products. Products of the selected categories will be read from the database "*group by*" the corresponding category. It reads data from a database called 'bio', running on Microsoft SQL Server 2005. The database datafiles will be available for download, you'll receive further hints on tables and table fields to use in SQL queries. The database will be read-only once the project will be delivered to the customer, so any additional or temp data that need to be written to a database will require "something" different (xml, sqlite, etc, you're totally free to choose what's best in your experience) Preferred languages: C# or VB.Net Please, supply an installation package to setup the application (it will be installed on a Windows XP SP3) or detailed instructions to make it work correctly.
