My idea was a game similar to brick breaker. I need it created in pure C, SDL 1.2 or 2.0 can be used. The game will be used as a learning resource to help teach SDL to somebody who is fairly new to C therefore it needs to have lots of comments. The game can be something you have already created. A suitable makefile and modular structure is required. The code needs to compile and run on linux

I actually have a game at the moment that would work for this, it is coded in C# and uses the Unity Editor which is easy to use. The game has a start menu, three levels - however there are prefabs so creating new levels are easy. I will code the game and email the file to you for use on your course.
