Here you can see a python script that emulates a ping using DNS [login to view URL] We need the same thing but written in Go to easily deploy the binary file on multiple linux servers. It should also perform faster and require lower resources than the script. Take your time to make the code optimal to optimize memory and CPU usage. The binary should take the same inputs and generate the same output. IPv6 is not needed, dont include it. If you find bugs in the Python code please report them to me and fix them in your Go code. ***** bazzinga ******* Hi, I have good knowledge of golang. I've written Telegraf plugin, Kafka to Influx log forwarder/transformer. I have good knowledge of channels and go routines (might not be required in this project). I can do it for you. I will be using "miekg/dns" Library for DNS query, as "net" library doesn't supports custom DNS Server. I can't say much about faster execution because DNS request time and sleep will be bottleneck. It will obviously use less CPU cycles and memory. Can we discuss further on PM. Thanks
