Apache Solr : Help design schema.xml and advise on MS SQL import

Apache Solr 3.1 : Help design [login to view URL] and advise on MS SQL import configuration, also define queries to produce facet results. The schema, import and search would be for a computer catalogue, facet drill down on indexing, by brand and also by price range. I have the import and search working, however I require someone with extensive experience working with Solr to refine and optimize to produce the best results.
