barcode scanning - Visual Studio 2005

Hello, I really need some help. Heres the story. I have a barcode scanner, I have barcodes, I need to read the barcode with the scanner (obviously) and have the information from the scan go into a VB (Visual Studio 2005) application. I have 3 fields i need filled (3 different scans/barcodes). Once done i need the information to go into an excel file, or wordpad. Any help you can provide? Please help me i dont have a clue how to start this application, and how to get the scanner to send the info to it i need this done ASAP. Will negotiate price I want a form with three fields that will be fed by your scanner. When the third field has been scanned, the record is created, stored in Excel, and focus is sent back to the first field. thats basically it.. I can get the 3 fields populated by the scans, its a scanner that plugs into the keyboard, so i just put 3 text boxes up, and it fills them... The 3 boxes are PART NUMBER QUANTITY SUPPLIER Each scan of the barcodes start with the first letter of the subject.. ex. part number looks like "PL0081475475GV" The P = part number The quantity looks like "Q10" for quantity 10 The Supplier looks like "S9500" for supplier 9500 I do not want the supplier barcode to be able to be scanned into the part # box. And vise versa... I want the box only to let the scan happen IF it starts with that key letter "Q" "S" "P" I do not know how to: 1. send the information it scans to the excel or access file 2. limit the scans to require starting with "Q" "S" "P" ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform needs to run on win xp / win 2k id need it done in visual studio 2005 so i can edit / modify it if needed
