Build Alterantive to Hp_helptext

I am looking to have an add-in built for VS2003 (but should also work for 2005) that will allow us to quickly bring up the whole SP (with no line breaks) by simply searching for the SP by name. THis way we don't have to drill down in the broswer nor use the help text. Currently we use sp_helptext to reutrn the full SP in the broswer, we then cut and paste it into the editor to make changes. This isn't great, but we aer dealling with more than 1000 SPs. So this is a fast way.? Unfortunately sp_helptext returns a result set with rows that are nvarchar(4000) and? it works from syscomment? syscomments holds the code for stored procedures in rows of? nvarchar(4000), and longer text is being split up without any regards? for line break (which means they are adding line breaks whenever they want, so we have to go through the whole code and clean up theline breaks in order for it to compile.? Or with other words: sp_helptext will return the text with line breaks? in places where they don't belong. It's an OK tool if you want to look? at a piece of good, but it's a bad choice to use as basis for editing.? ? But we need a tool taht will allow us to do this quickly... ## Deliverables I am not sure the best way to speed this up. We can find the? procedure in Object Explorer or similar and script it through the? context menu without those line break. They key is it MUST be fast. To simply type the SP name and have the procedure come up WITHOUT missplaced line breaks. So the code should always compile the first time (assuming no changes were made)
